4IT will aid the American Red Cross in their mission to make South Florida homes resistant to fires. 4IT will aid in the installation of smoke detectors in local homes to raise awareness on the threat that residential fires pose to Americans.
On Saturday, May 21, 2016, 4IT will join the American Red Cross’s Home Fire Preparedness team to install smoke detectors in the Plantation community from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Fire Station #23 located at 200 SW 46th Ave. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. Orientation and a light breakfast will begin at 9:00 AM and lunch will also be provided.
Seven times a day, someone in this country dies in a home fire. Over the next five years, the American Red Cross seeks to reduce the number of home fire deaths and injuries by 25%. 4IT and the Home Fire Preparedness Team are working to create safer residential communities by providing free smoke alarms to those who cannot afford to purchase one or who are physically unable to install a smoke alarm.
“4IT recognizes the importance of serving the community,” said 4IT President Alexander Freund. “We hope our efforts of installing smoke detectors in the homes of families in need of one will help save lives and prevent injuries.”
